We are a small, 100% Romanian family business, paying taxes in Romania since 2013. We think it is important to make a clarification: the income we have from our clients in Romania is mostly returned to the local economy. So, directly or indirectly, we help other partners and Romanian businesses to grow. We have Romanian employees, Romanian collaborators (programmers, photo-video, accounting services, PSI/ISU, advertising). We pay rent and many other services to Romanian companies, the few dividends (if any) are mainly spent in Romania.

The idea of specializing in magnets came to us as early as December 2012. Then we were looking for a solution to collect the iron waste from the ashes thrown in the yard, after burning, for the economic heating of the formwork used in the construction of the house. This is how we discovered neodymium / neodymium supermagnets, magnets that still amaze us today with their amazing force of attraction relative to their size. Since we could not find these magnets in Romania, we decided to specialize in this niche of magnets and magnetic products. Time passed and I gained experience in applications with magnets and magnetic products. We are still working in this area.

How did we get started with magnets?

We started with small steps, developing the first online site when the regulations were simpler – www.hobber.ro. Things have become much more complex today. If we were to suddenly dream of the complex world of today, we would probably have been discouraged and not have taken the first steps. With a dose of luck, family support and a lot of work, we managed to have an upward path. And as a result, the number of satisfied customers, sales, number of suppliers and stocks of magnets and magnetic products increased.

When we had the first 5 products present in the e-commerce site, we opened a champagne… then we realized that only 5 magnetic products mean very little for a market with various requirements. Since then, I have continuously diversified the portfolio … like in the story of Forrest Gump when he started running in one direction and didn’t stop. We currently have product stocks of over 1000 types of magnetic products and magnets that address the most diverse applications.

The first customers were individuals, passionate about magnets and applications of magnets like us. We are grateful to them, first of all, because they helped us grow and still represent an important part of our business. Gradually, we accumulated experience, stocks and we were noticed by big companies who started asking us for offers and testing our products. Thus, we started to deliver magnetic products in fields with high technology, to manufacturers in the aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment constructions, the consumer industry, but also to research institutes, universities and science museums.
